Three roles, one week: DJ, content creator, and executive assistant. Here's what each one actually looks like, and where I'd love each to go next.

I'm Hanz. I live in Manila with my girlfriend Lei, and I wear three hats: DJ, content creator, and executive assistant at night.

Three roles, one week. This is what each one actually looks like, and where I'd love each to go next.

Content Creator

My content creation journey started with me and Lei. We live together in Manila, and we really like coffee. On weekends, sometimes even on weekdays, we'd go to a coffee shop and review the aesthetics of the place, the food, and the coffee. We take videos on our phones, nothing too fancy, then quietly upload them on TikTok and tag the owners.

A few months in, we landed our first sponsorship and our first collab. That's how it all kick-started.

In about two or three months we hit around 600 followers. The video that really blew up got about 136,000 views. The second one landed around 93,000. For two people filming on phones and tagging owners after the fact, that felt like a lot.

The workflow is simple. We go on Google Maps, check out the closest coffee shops near us, and visit them on random days. That's it. No production calendar, no scripts.

Restaurants are a little different. My family and I spend a lot of Sundays going out together, and what we really like doing is exploring different restaurants. I don't take videos for those. I'll jot a few notes on my phone, or sometimes leave a Google review, just to help people navigate the thousands of restaurants here in Manila.

If you don't know, Manila is a really big foodie city. People love exploring food here, and trying anything new.

DJing

The other thing I want to do this year is improve my DJing. I'd love to book more clients and spin for more coffee shops in particular. The two sides of what I do fit together that way: I'm already reviewing the venues, and a lot of those same spaces could use a DJ during their special events.

If you run a coffee shop or a restaurant in Manila and want to talk about a booking, email or text works.

Executive Assistant

At night I work as a virtual assistant for a US client. I help him with daily personal tasks. The work is hands-on and personal, but I can see where parts of it could get automated.

AI has been taking over parts of my work, so I've been trying to get ahead of it instead of waiting around.

Over the past few months I've been learning Claude Code as a beginner, with no coding experience at all. I want to share some of what I've picked up, because I think it's interesting for people to hear what learning this stuff looks like from a VA's perspective, not an engineer's.

I'll write more about this very soon!!

How It Connects

Being a DJ, content creator, and VA all at once sounds like three different jobs, but they overlap more than you'd think. The VA work pays the bills and keeps me in front of a computer during the day. The content and the DJing are what I do when I'm not. And the coffee shops I review on weekends are the same kind of rooms I want to DJ in on weeknights.

If you want to promote your coffee shop or restaurant, book a DJ set, or just see where Lei and I end up next Sunday, this personal site is the place.
